Schools Count Corp. is devoted to the world's children
by providing resources that have the
power to lift the spirit and unlock
the vast potential of the human mind.
Schools Count Corp.
was started by Dick Flesher in 2005 in response to the devastation that
schools in New Orleans were experiencing after Hurricane Katrina. Dick,
a retired Hinsdale, IL teacher, quickly rallied his troops to put
together relief supplies for schools with students in need. In the first
month of this effort, over $750,000 worth of supplies were sent to
Mississippi and the New Orleans area. Since 2005, Schools Count Corp.
has put together truck loads of supplies including musical instruments,
sporting goods, uniforms, winter coats, backpacks and general school
materials. The organization has donated hundreds of hours and thousands
of dollars to assist in the rebuild of the Crescent City. In 2008,
Schools Count Corp. expanded it's assistance to include the areas of
Galveston, Texas (Hurricane Gustav) and the Mississippi River valley of
Iowa (flooding). Schools Count Corp. is based in the Chicago area with
members that reach across the country. We look forward to being able to
serve the schools in 2010. For additional information on Schools Count
Corp.'s past projects, please view our
