Schools Count Corp. is devoted to the world's children
by providing resources that have the
power to lift the spirit and unlock
the vast potential of the human mind.
Schools Count Corp.
was started by Dick Flesher in 2005 in response to the devastation that
schools in New Orleans were experiencing after Hurricane Katrina. Dick,
a retired Hinsdale Central High School, IL teacher, quickly rallied his troops to put
together relief supplies for schools with students in need. In the first
month of this effort, over $750,000 worth of supplies were sent to
Mississippi and the New Orleans area. Since 2005, Schools Count Corp.
has put together truck loads of supplies including musical instruments,
sporting goods, uniforms, winter coats, backpacks and general school
materials. The organization has donated hundreds of hours and thousands
of dollars to assist in the rebuilding of the Crescent City. In 2008,
Schools Count Corp. expanded it's assistance to include the areas of
Galveston, Texas (Hurricane Gustav) and the Mississippi River valley of
Iowa (flooding). Since that time, Schools Count Corp. has initiated an anti-poverty program in twenty-seven Chicago Public School during 2010-11. In addition SCC has helped to rebuild a school in Haiti as well as assisting tornado ravaged Joplin, Missouri in the fall of 2011. SCC is based in the Chicago area. We look forward to being able to
serve many schools going forward into 2012. For additional information on Schools Count
Corp.'s past projects, please view our
